The CAIRB (Communication & Interaction Resource Base) forms part of a mainstream specialist provision for students in East Devon. The CAIRB caters for students with autism who require a higher level of support that can typically be provided in a mainstream environment. All students access and make progress within a mainstream learning environment.
- has eight places for young people with autism
- provides a setting for students who may have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEND)
- provides outreach support to local schools as part of a countrywide network of support for students with autism, in collaboration with the centrally based Communication & Interaction Team.
