Young people are at the heart of everything we do. We all want our children to flourish at school. Government statistics and OfSTED reports show students at Tiverton High School are successful. Teachers are able to challenge their students because they know them very well and engage with them as individuals. They know that there is no such thing as an ordinary child; that every child is extraordinary in some way and we are all committed to releasing that individual spark. We believe that inspiration is the key; children are fires to be lit, not urns to be filled!

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of science to join our innovative team from September 2018.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our colleague Maggie Fasey. For many years Maggie was very much the face of hockey both at THS and within the wider community. Her skills and experience were such that she represented England at international level having won a silver medal in the World Masters in 2014 and more recently a gold medal in the Grand Masters European in 2017. It was when sharing her love of the sport that Maggie found most enjoyment however, and we are enormously proud of her many years spent as part of dedicated PE teaching teams at THS and its predecessor Heathcoat secondary modern where she started teaching in 1976. Although Maggie took retirement from her teaching position at THS in 2015 she remained an invaluable part of our community as the lead of our Primary Transition work. Her calming presence amongst the year 6’s will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and condolences at this difficult time are with her family, friends and the many members of the Tiverton community whose lives she touched.
