Four new governors have been appointed to The Federation of Tiverton Schools governing board.
They will support the current leadership team on decision making and policies, and help the Federation to reach its long-term goals.
Ian Fraser joins the board as Diocese Foundation Governor. Previously a Headteacher at a secondary school in the Midlands, and a governor at a local primary school, Ian has extensive knowledge and experience working within a school environment. Ian has recently retired to Tiverton and is a member of the St Pauls and St Georges Church.
On joining the board, Ian said: “I am delighted to have been accepted onto the board of governors for the Federation. We have three brilliant schools within this Federation, all with a strong community presence.
“I am looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience from working within a range of different schools, to aid the Federation in continuing to grow in size and strength over the course of this school year.”
Peter Harper, previously a parent governor at his daughter’s primary school, Andrew Rigamonti, a parent of a current Year 6 pupil within the Federation, and John Panton, a teacher at Exmouth Community College and former Foundation Governor at St John’s Primary School, all join the board as governors in the Federation.
The Federation of Tiverton Schools is collectively made up of Heathcoat Primary School, Rackenford Primary School and Tiverton High School. The aim of the Federation is to help the schools work together to improve opportunities and outcomes for all children and young people in the local community.
