Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have over 1250 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: it’s that simple’.

We are a cooperative trust school and are part of a formal federation with Heathcoat Primary and Rackenford C of E Primary School.

We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills to co-ordinate and facilitate students that have been unsuccessful in their learning environment and who need additional support to manage either their return their lessons or the space to reflect for a period of time within the school ‘Internal Exclusion’ room.

The successful candidate will manage the day to day running of the room under the guidance of the Assistant Head and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the needs of the students are being met and a collective approach has been identified to enable a positive way forward.

You will be able to build positive, trusting and productive relationships with young people and have a good understanding of mental health issues. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and you will be able to work independently and with initiative, often in challenging situations.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post.

If you are willing to go the extra mile and share our ambition to provide an outstanding education to fantastic children, then we would welcome your application.
