Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have over 1250 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: it’s that simple’.
We are a cooperative trust school and are in a formal federation with Heathcoat Primary and Rackenford C of E Primary School.
We are looking to appoint a Science Technician to provide technical support to teaching staff within science classes. We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach and is able to tackle a range of routine duties within the science department.
The successful candidate will, alongside the Technician Team, assist with the planning and preparation of materials and technical information for practical work. They will have a recognised science qualification, and/or laboratory experience or have relevant experience working as a Science Technician.
They will be aware of CLEAPPS/COSHH and other regulations regarding the storage of chemicals. They will work well under pressure and be equally comfortable working on their own or as a part of a team.
You will have excellent communication skills with both adults and students alike.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is our priority and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and suitable references are required for this post.
