Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have 1250 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: It’s that simple’.

We are a cooperative trust school and are in a formal federation with Heathcoat Primary and Rackenford Church of England Primary School.

We require a Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of senior staff within an agreed system of supervision to undertake Educational, Care and Support programmes to enable access to learning for students, and to assist the SEND Leadership Team and wider SEND team in the management of students and SEND classrooms.

You will have experience supporting challenging behaviour, have strong classroom and behaviour management and will be resilient, show initiative and have the potential to deliver outstanding outcomes.

This important role involves leading in the delivery of provision for students with needs related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues at Tiverton High School. This person will be part of the wider SEND team and work alongside the SENDCo and Assistant SENDCo.

You will assist in leading and managing the provision of special educational needs learning support, ensuring high quality learning, teaching, and behaviour, effective use of resources, and high standards of achievement and progress for all pupils.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

We are committed to safeguarding children and the above post is one the Authority has deemed to involve substantial access to children. With that in mind, if appointed, we will seek references and a full disclosure and barring check.
