Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have 1186 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: It’s that simple’
We require a Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. A good knowledge and understanding of students with social, emotional and mental health needs is essential, along with experience managing behaviour. You will need to have a flexible, creative and adaptable approach to inclusively support students. From time to time, you may be asked to support other students within our CAIRB.
ICT skills are desirable. In addition to the post offered you will join one of our five year groups and become a mentor or tutor for a group of between 23-27 students. Training will also be provided to help the successful applicant fulfil this exciting role in supporting our young people.
We are committed to safeguarding children and the above post is one the Authority has deemed to involve substantial access to children. With that in mind, if appointed, we will seek references and a full disclosure and barring check.
