THS on camera to celebrate Heathcoat Fabrics’ award

Tiverton business Heathcoat Fabrics was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation on Tuesday 24 January, for their fabric used in the Mars Perseverance mission.

They asked for three Tiverton High School students to be present, and science teacher Sam Dunning accompanied Alfie Coker and Lottie Rigamonti (Head Boy and Girl) along with Gil Pestaille from year 7.

Sam says: “They were fantastic, doing a Q&A with Heathcoat and representatives from NASA and Airborne Systems USA. All the students were brilliant on camera being asked questions about what the factory means to the community.”

The event has attracted media coverage, with a Spotlight interview broadcast on the day, and on ITV on 25 January.
