U14 Girls showcasing their class

Our U14 Girls Football Team played with determination, physicality and skill to earn themselves a well deserved 3-1 victory over Exmouth Community College.

The girls adjusted quickly to playing on a slippery astro turf service. The message was to play with intensity, close down and pressurise the opposition quickly and the girls did that fantastically well. Our first goal came from Connie Pengelly scoring from a corner kick after 20 minutes. Just before half term, Connie added another cooly taken goal. Exmouth started the second half with quick and accurate passing but our defence stayed strong and quickly feeding our midfield with the ball. Our hard work paid off when we went 3-0 up. All of the goals scored by Connie Pengelly. Exmouth scored a deserved goal in the last five minutes to make it 3-1 to Tiverton, The girls are now into the last 32 of the Country – an amazing achievement. Our next game is at home against Gordano School. I am so proud of how hard the girls work and how they encourage and support each other on and off the pitch. Well done.

The team: Imogen Ogbourne, Kathryn Heard, Murron Humphries, Charlotte Maryan-Lewis, Sophie Collard, Ellie Somerwill, Emma Curtis, Maddie Walker, Jess Hayes, Connie Pengelly (c), Jodie Floyde, Amber Wilson & Faith Aitchison.
