Winning start to the football season for U13 girls

The year 7 girls have started the year with a well deserved 2-1 win against Clyst Vale. The game was arranged to give as many of our year 7 girls an opportunity before the start of the National Cup next week, and therefore saw a full year 7 team start the game with most girls playing in a number of different positions to help with selection for next week.

THS started the strongest with Kayra and Ella Mai’s aggression in midfield the key difference between the two sides in the opening stages. This was followed by two clever finishes from Kayra which sent us in at the break with a 2-0 lead.

We made all 5 remaining subs at half time which saw the year 8s come on to play alongside their new teammates. It was a half of end to end football as Clyst Vale pushed forward leaving gaps for us to attack, however we didn’t manage to make the most of it and a consolation goal from Clyst Vale meant that we ended the game with a 2-1 win.

A great start to the year for the girls, attention now focuses to training as we look to alter parts of our game and hopefully go on a long run in the national cup.

Well done to the following:
Hetty J. Faye A. Esmee B. Sophie BB. Kayra P. Ella-Mai R. Evie H. Evie T. Macie S . Lucy G. Tayler L. Lacey S. Niamh P. Chloe C
