Year 9 Uncover Higher Education Programme with the University of Exeter

Year 9 Uncover Higher Education Programme with the University of Exeter

This week sees the launch of our 4th group of students engaging with the University of Exeter for the Uncover HE Programme.

The aim of the programme is to give students an introduction to some of the key aspects of higher education including: what life as a university student is like; the variety of courses available at university; and how university can link up with students’ future plans and career, so that they can have a think about whether or not it might be a good option for them to follow when they finish Year 11 at THS.

The programme is delivered over the course of three years (finishing in year 11) by students from the University of Exeter, who will work with 15 of our high ability and more able and talented Year 9 students.

The Uncover Higher Education programme is made up of a series of interactive, fun and interesting classroom sessions, as well as a few visits to the University of Exeter and some online webchats.

We know that the end of school may seem like a long way off to our Year 9 students but we hope that being part of this programme will get them thinking about their future plans and help them to make some important decisions so that they can achieve their goals.

Congratulations to the following Year 9’s for being identified to be part of this exciting opportunity:
