U16 girls win in twelve goal thriller!

Match report by Mr Symons

The U16 girls have returned to action with a 7-5 win against Courtfields this afternoon. The girls raced out of the blocks eager to prove a point after a previous defeat against todays opponents which led to a healthy 5-1 lead for us at the break with braces from Chloe and Freya, plus a goal from Niamh putting us in a strong position.

In all complete honesty we became too comfortable after this and allowed our opponents back in the game, with the score 6-5 to us with 10 minutes to go. It took the girls a minute to calm and restore control, but we saw the game out well in the end, with the score line ending 7-5.

This, with so many changes to this team over the years is a very pleasing result and something that we will work on and look to improve further upon with upcoming fixtures against other local schools.

Players player today is India W, an absolute rock both at the back and for a spell in the middle of the park for us today.

Mine goes to Ava L who only her second appearance for this team who’s reading of the game and positioning was outstanding.

Goals –

Freya x4
Chloe x2
