U13 footballers get a result at Millfield School

Two teams from THS competed against Millfield School in what will be an experience those involved won’t forget for some time.

Firstly the 11 a side team put on an excellent display and came away with a 3-1 win. Despite some standout individual performances from one or two Millfield players, the THS boys worked brilliantly for each other and personified a ‘never give up’ attitude. Some moments of magic in particular from the player of the match Hudson W led to goals from George C x2 and Archie A x1. Well done boys.

The 9 a side team unfortunately suffered a narrow defeat. In the first half, there was some great passing and moving from both teams on and off the ball, but a long ball over the top from Korbin meant Finley could finesse his way around the defence and slotted one home just before half time.

Just after, our captain Olly J came off with a quad injury, leaving us with eight players. In the second half, Millfield came back strong, managing to claw back four goals in quick succession meaning the score was 4-1. But THS maintained their high energy and positive mindset which resulted in two further goals from Dylan. However, there was just not enough time left to play so the score remained 4-3 to Millfield. The game was a great experience for all involved and they should be really proud of the result.
