Girls football teams victorious in Taunton

This week the U13s and U16s girls football teams travelled to The Castle School in Taunton to take part in some ‘friendly’ football fixtures. Both teams returned to THS with victories.

U16 match report from Jess M:

A smashing game for the U16 girls with a supreme 5-0 win!!

A fantastic cross from Mackenzie H saw Kacey H scoring and giving us a lead early on with Ana C then netting her first goal of the match. A goal from Freya H was scored then Ana C weaved her way through player after player and scored her second scorcher which put the girls ahead 4-0 at half time!

After a well thought-out decision of a change in position by captain Laura C, Jess M ran the ball from her own half, past the defenders to beautifully place it into the corner of the goal securing the 5-0 win!

Laura C, Lottie R, Tillie-Jai H, Millie B and Millie K performed some top defending with tactical substitutions and Carly K and Megan H controlled the middle well. Amazon V made some magnificent saves in the second half coming out with stud marks on her legs and saw to it that the U16s had a well-deserved and well-fought for clean sheet!

Player of the match goes to Jess M.

U16s: Millie B, Laura C, Ana C, Mackenzie H, Freya H, Kacey H, Tillie-Jai H, Megan H, Millie K, Carly K, Jessica M, Lottie R, Amazon V

U13 Match report courtesy of Olivia W & Kayra P:

The U13 girls football team won 5:0. Chloe C yet again scored another hat trick and Macie S playing up a year scored 2.

As a team the U13s played really well, solid in defence and dangerous going forward. With a few year 7s playing and not looking out of place the future of girls’ football at THS continues to look bright.

It was great for the team to watch the U16 girls after who are definitely an inspiration for them. Player of the match went to Chloe C.

U13s: Faye A, Esmee B, Chloe C, Lucy G, Hetty J, Imogen K, Ava L, Kayra P, Niamh P, Ella R, Lacey S, Macie S, Olivia W
