During the last week, we have played two rounders fixtures. A first for all involved! Last Thursday, we welcomed St Peter’s to our school where our newly formed Year 9 team experienced their first competitive match. The team did extremely well and by the time they played the second innings, their confidence had increased, and they showed some fantastic batting and fielding skills. They were a credit to us. Thank you to Mrs Bennett & Miss Channon for running the fixture.
Tuesday afternoon, I took a mixture of Year 7 & 8s to St Peter’s to play. For some, this was the first time they have represented THS, and my goodness they were fabulous. All of the team relaxed into the game and much like the Year 9s, they felt more comfortable and confident during the second innings. We saw some great catches by Faye A, fantastic accurate throwing by William C, great batting by Jackson M, Lima S, Nellie A, Macie CF & Faye B. Decision making and fielding by Eli B & Paige C was out of this world, their reading of the game, when to run, when not to run and who to throw the ball too was superb. A fantastic experience for all, well done team.
Rounders practice is on a Wednesday after school for all year groups. Meet at the PE office at the end of the day. It would be great to see you there.
