Strong win for U16 boys against Court Fields

In what will be their last year together playing for the school, the U16 football team started off their national cup campaign with a brilliant 4-0 against Court Fields School in Wellington. No pre-game motivation was needed as they lost against their opponents last year on penalties.

THS started with enthusiasm, desire and focus and this was rewarded with a couple of quickfire goals. Cody S opened the scoring by rounding the keeper and finishing neatly followed by Cody again outpacing the opposition defence, luring the keeper into a rash tackle resulting in a penalty and a confident finish from Freddie A. The game was almost won by half time with Kamil W making it 3-0 with a volleyed finish from a set piece.

Concentration was key in the second half and they kept it solid throughout, winning their tackles and aerial duels. They mimimised Court Fields’ chances well and saw the game out finally winning 4-0.
