Our year 10 footballers booked their place in round three of the National Cup with a ruthless 7-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon against Chulmleigh. A reshuffle from ourselves saw skipper Archie move into a deeper role in midfield which made us more solid and allowed us to control the game giving us the platform for our attacking players to thrive.
An Ollie W brace had us 2-0 ahead within the first ten minutes, with Henry Q then adding a brace for himself to give us a 4-0 lead at the break. The boys didn’t allow themselves to become comfortable after the restart, adding three more goals through Harvey E, Piran L and Ollie W to give him his hat-trick.
A superb performance from these boys and one that should stand them in good stead as we aim to go deep into this competition. A big well done also to a new look defence which saw a goalkeeper and two central defenders who have all made their THS debuts in the past twelve months keep a clean sheet which will give them confidence moving forward.
Next up for these boys is an away tie to either West Somerset College or The Taunton Academy, still yet to play their round two tie.
Player’s player is Owen T for his control of the game in midfield, and mine goes to Ollie W for his constant goal threat from our left-hand side. Well done to all of the following: Jake S Isaac C Joe T Piran L Charlie B Jude H Owen T Archie M Henry Q Harvey E Ollie W Keelan M Kayden H Curtis V
