Refectory menus

Catering at THS

Here are our new menus and price list which the school is introducing on 1st January 2024. Tiverton High School is both excited and proud to be bringing new catering options to our students and staff. We are also very pleased to be working in partnership with Educatering , a part of Goosemoor Foodservice Ltd, to help us improve our catering provision.

Our new menu includes a range of affordable hot food options including “half” pots of pasta and curry for those preferring a smaller portion. Alongside these we are also including “Grab & Go” items and introducing a “Fruit Bar” as a part of our “Wellbeing Salad Bar”.

The new menu is based on a weekly rotation over a three-week period. By scanning the QR code all nutritional information and allergens can be viewed. This information is updated regularly so please check allergen information if it applies to your child. The new menu is designed to meet healthy eating standards and uses many locally produced ingredients freshly cooked daily.

New – from 1st January in addition to our two refectories, we will be opening both of our food outlets in the Quad and at the front of school at both break and lunchtimes to serve hot and cold food options. This will help reduce queues, improve accessibility and offer students more options when buying food.

Free School Meals

Here is the link to the Devon County Council page School meals – Education and Families (devon.gov.uk)

On this page you will find information regarding eligibility and how to apply.

At Tiverton High School we are increasing our daily allowance to £2.53 . This is sufficient to buy a two-course meal deal and matches the level of funding provided by the DfE. If preferred a student may choose to use this allowance to buy separate items at break and lunchtimes. Free water is available around the school site and students are encouraged to bring their own refillable cups/bottles.

Families may also add to their child’s school meal account if they choose to do so. In these cases, the Free School Meal allowance will always be used before any other topped up amount. Please refer to the Payment Systems page for guidance on how to use the school’s cashless payments system
