This week has seen some of the first matches played of the 23/24 Netball and Football season, and our teams have been in great form.
Year 7:
The year 7 football team played their national cup fixture against St Peters School yesterday afternoon. Despite an excellent team performance especially in the first half we were undone by some fantastic play by the opposition and in particular their striker who was brilliant. Despite the final scoreline not reflecting the manner in which the year 7 football team played, and the attitude of our players, the boys stuck together and never let their heads drop and encouraged each other to the final whistle. The final score was 6-0 to St Peters with their star striker scoring 5 of the 6.

Year 8:
The year 8 netball team made an exciting start to the new season against Courtfields School yesterday evening. After the first quarter, THS were 7-0 up. THS further pulled away with Jess S and Mireille A presenting a real challenge to Courtfields defence with Evie H and Freya C turning over balls going through the center court to increase the score to 10-1 at half time. In the third quarter, Courtfields found their feet and began to fight back, managing to increase their score to 4, but some clean interceptions and the shooting teamwork of Faye B and Mireille A brought the game to a final 20-6 score to THS.
An exciting first game which has given the girls a big confidence boost.

Year 9:
The year 8 netball team came out strong against their Courtfields School rivals yesterday evening, quickly taking the lead and netting several goals to up the score to 4-1. As the game went on, calm work from Imogen K and Phoebe B working the ball down the court helped slow their attack.
A strong third quarter from Courtfields saw them come level and take the lead over THS. A switch of Ruby H and Imogen K in the 4th quarter helped defensively and with working the ball down the court where Ava L netted goal after goal to claw back the lead in time of the final whistle resulting in a final score of 12-11 to THS.
