Dear parents and carers,
Re: Departure of Tania Mayes, SENCo
After dedicating 12 years to the children of Tiverton High School as our SENCo Tania has decided to step down from her post. Tania has been incredibly committed to the young people of Tiverton and their families, especially for those who have SENd. This has not been an easy decision for Tania, but she has decided now is the time to explore other roles within education.
Tania leaves her SENCo role at the end of the term and myself and my team are working behind the scenes to create a structure which will provide the right degree of stability and support as an interim measure whilst we advertise and appoint a new full time SENCo.
Please be assured that if your child has SEN needs normal provision and support will remain in place and we will be communicating with parents over the next few weeks about who to contact should you have any concerns.
Whilst we only have 3 weeks remaining of Tania in her role as SENCo I am delighted to inform those students and parents who are going to Kenya in July 2024 that Tania will continue her key role in this overseas trip.
I am sure that you will all join me in wishing Tania all the very best in her professional and personal life moving forward in January 2024.
Kind regards
Mrs Crook
Head
