Fabulous turnout for year 6 Open Evening

Families flocked to our year 6 Open Evening last week. Despite a very wet and windy day our year 6 Open Evening drew in large crowds and the hall was packed for both presentations by Sammy Crook, Headteacher. Families were able to tour the school to visit all of the departments as well as try the refectory food during their visit.

Current students worked alongside staff to show families all of the wonderful opportunities THS has to offer. We are proud of how our current students spoke to visitors and helped answer their questions. There was a great community feeling throughout the evening.

Following visiting all of the departments visitors could return to the refectory for refreshments and to collect their THS goodie bag. As well as the delicious samples of food families were able to find out more about summer transition programmes, look at the school uniform and speak to the SEND department.

Feedback about the event was very positive with many parents commenting on the positive engagement from students and teachers throughout the evening.

One parent commented ‘it was a fabulous, well organised evening. Thanks to all involved’.

Every year we follow up our Open Evening with small group tours of the school which will take place on the 15th and 16th October. Families interested in booking a tour should contact Emily Pike, Marketing Manager via the school contact page or contact reception.
