Green Party voted in by Year 8!

Mr Morrell and the year 8 tutor team gave our year 8s a chance to experience democracy and highlighting British Values with their very own election process.

Mr Morrell had this to say about the activity ‘today, our year 8 tutor activity focused on exploring the different party manifestos before casting our own votes. This exercise gave us a chance to engage with the political process and understand the key policies and promises of various parties. We watched videos and reviewed materials from each party to grasp their stances on important issues.

After the presentations, we held a mock election where everyone had the opportunity to vote based on what they had learned. It was an exciting and educational experience for all. In the end, the Green Party emerged as the clear winner with a landslide victory. This result sparked interesting discussions about environmental policies and the importance of sustainability among our classmates. Overall, it was a valuable and enlightening activity that allowed us to practice our democratic rights in a fun and engaging way’.
