Once again year 11 students celebrated the end of their time at THS with our annual Dress As You Dare Day celebration. This fun filled parade of quirky, and at times outlandish, outfits has become a right of passage our students.
Fuelled by a breakfast in the school refectory the colourful characters paraded in front of school staff and students before a final assembly where they were waved off from their very last day of school.
Bright colours and dazzling outfits were the order of the day with stand out examples of 1970s fashion and plenty of orange prison overalls. Creative costumes included Snow White and his Seven Dwarfs, lifeguards, a bride in a full wedding dress and even a nod to the film Top Gun.
As their time here came to an end Assistant Head of Year Mrs Pritchard said ‘Year 11 were a credit to themselves and to THS. A lot of effort had been put into costumes with Colin & Percy being a personal favourite. The final assembly was great with laughter, tears and many happy memories shared. Good luck for the future Year 11’.
While Dress As You Dare Day marks the final day at school the year 11 students have one last school event this week. We look forward to welcoming them to prom in hopefully some rather more sophisticated outfits!
