Super STEM winners!

Last night Miss Turner had the pleasure of going to Exeter University to see Lily B and Jacob O receive their Primary Engineer Winner Awards.

In February we hosted a Primary Engineer competition with 30 of our year 7s. We had safety engineer, Simon Craig, come from DE&S to support the running of the day. Each student entered the national competition ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’ and we posted their entries off to Primary Engineer HQ where they were judged by engineers across the country. Each student received a certificate for participating and several were chosen to be Distinction Shortlisted. From this shortlist, winners were chosen by the judges. Nationally there were over 70,000 entries and we had 2 winners picked from THS!

Lily and Jacob represented the school amazingly yesterday at the awards ceremony. Both Simon and Miss Turner attended and were really impressed with them, the engineer judges who were at the event could not speak more highly of these two brilliant young people.
