Tiverton High School is part of the Federation of Tiverton Schools, along with Heathcoat Primary School and Rackenford Church of England Primary School. We are an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of the M5, Exeter, Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have over 1100 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that we are here to help children succeed.
Tiverton High School (THS) is committed to providing students with a holistic education which enables them to get the most out of their academic learning and also prepare them for all aspects of adult life.
Working as part of the Year group teams, this role is focused on supporting Heads of Year to work with individual students and their families to:
- Ensure that students are safeguarded
- Promote student welfare by providing support to meet their wider health and social and educational needs including close work with parents and carers.
- Identify and remove where possible any individual barriers to supporting student learning and progression
You will be confident in liaising with external agencies, parents and other stakeholders and be the first point of contact for communication regarding Early Help / Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings. You will be organised and an excellent record keeper as well as able to be flexible with your support to enable our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Heads of Year (HoY) to work holistically with families.
