Tiverton High School is an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of Exmoor and the North Devon coast. We have over 1250 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that ‘we are here to help children succeed: it’s that simple’.
We are a cooperative trust school and have recently joined a formal federation with Heathcoat Primary and Rackenford C of E Primary School.
This is an opportunity to join the school’s experienced exams’ team; assisting in the efficient, effective and secure delivery of both internal and external exams with due regard to the rules and regulations of the examining bodies and to the well-being of the students. All students must have the opportunity to perform at their very best at all times.
The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the supervision of both students and exam materials. They will also have access to information relating to students. They will need to be comfortable with this level of responsibility and will have to be very clear about the absolute need for confidentiality. Sometimes supervision might be on a one-to-one basis with a student. You may also be asked to act as a reader or scribe as part of your duties. We are also looking to appoint invigilators with a good standard of IT skills as you may be required to invigilate online examinations and/or examinations where students are word processing their answers, using a specialist reading software or speech-to-text software.
The main exam season runs throughout May & June with some work offered in late April and November. Depending on demand there may also be some exams running in January/ February.
Training will be given to the successful candidate(s). Thereafter training must be attended every 3 months; this is a condition of ongoing employment.
