- Students should log on to Google Classrooms at 9:00am to see if they have a live lesson or not. If they have a live lesson this is because the teacher is either not in the NEU or they have decided not to strike. If a student logs on and no teacher appears please encourage them to complete some of the independent tasks listed below.
- Students should go to their year group folder in Google Classrooms e.g., ‘Year 7’, ‘Year 8’, ‘Year 9’, ‘Year 10’ or ‘Year 11’ to access independent learning resources and tasks. In your year group folder, you will find a reading task and links to online platforms with guidance (see below).
Reading activity: please read your personal book for 45 minutes if you are not on live lessons on Google Classrooms for all five lessons with your teachers.
Personal Development task: Work through the PowerPoint which focuses on why personal development is important, physical and mental wellbeing and bullying and cyberbullying.

- For example: all year 10 are studying Macbeth. You can choose literature / Drama / Shakespeare / Macbeth and select a range of podcasts from the menu. Create flashcards or mind-maps.
- Students at home are to work through their normal timetable from 9am. Depending on which teachers they have should mean that they will experience a mix of live lessons and some independent work. Students can use their knowledge organisers which they have at home to support their learning.
All students in school are expected to wear full uniform for the day.
Vulnerable learners or those who have been identified as entitled to a critical worker place
We have worked with our families to identify a small number of students who meet the criteria above. These students should;
- Arrive at school at 8:30am and report to room 25 (ICT suite) to be registered.
- Students will experience a blend of live lessons online combined with independent learning tasks throughout the day. A computer and headset will be available for these students along with any resources they require. These students will be supervised by members of the senior team.
