Celebration Evening 2018

Celebration Evening 2018

This year’s leavers stepped foot inside the school for one final time last week, to celebrate the year group’s successes at our annual Celebration Evening.

Headteacher, Sammy Crook, welcomed back former Year 11 students and their families to mark one of the most successful GCSE results on record for the school, and there were many awards handed out for various accomplishments.

Awards presented included Student of the Year and Highest Achievement for each house, singular awards for subjects, and awards for best attendance. The Governors’ Award for Outstanding Contribution to School Life, was also awarded to Beth Padfield, and the Rotary Award for Academic Excellence awarded to Jasmine Partridge.

Mrs Crook said: “Celebration Evening is always one of my proudest nights on the school calendar, welcoming students back to celebrate their achievements individually, and as a group.

“We are incredibly proud of all the students, and while it’s an honour to celebrate those students who have achieved academically, it’s also a pleasure to acknowledge students who contributed to the school in different ways during their time with us.

“The evening was a brilliant chance to catch up with the students, and to hear how their college courses and apprenticeships are going. We wish them all the very best, and hope they lead happy and successful futures.”
