U16s progress is national cup

The U16 football team continued their run in the national cup on Tuesday with a convincing 4-2 win against Clyst Vale, the team that knocked them out last year. In what was a highly competitve fixture with both teams contributing to a great game, our boys stepped up and managed to get the upper hand physically thus allowing their skill on the ball to shine through.

Going 1-0 up via a Jacob F goal, a crucial penalty save from Ollie R in what was only his second game in goal for the school ensured they went in at half time still winning. They then kicked on in the second half storming to an almost unassailable 4-0 lead with further goals from Brayden M, Cody S and Freddie A. Credit must go to Clyst Vale who scored two late goals to make a game of it right until the full time whistle.

Players’ player went to Job G. Well done all involved.
