U13 girls faced Year 7 boys

The U13 girls have continued their remarkable form with a 2-0 win over the year 7 boys, who chose to rotate their squad slightly to give fringe players an opportunity this afternoon.

Freya was alert early on, forcing Korbin into a good save before slotting in the rebound. The girls kept pushing and the pressure paid off when Chloe showed great composure to beat a couple players before pulling the ball back onto her left foot and slotting it into the bottom corner from just outside of the box to put the score at 2-0 to the girls at half time.

The year 7s started the second half strongly, now with a far stronger looking side out in the second half as they had to chase the game. The girls did superbly well to keep their shape and allow only one shot on Jess’ goal, and were stopped by another couple of great saves from the year 7 goalkeeper as well as some great defending to stop some promising looking counter attacks.

The girls move onto the first round of their National Cup campaign against Abbeywood Community School in a couple weeks time, while the year 7 boys will look forward to a fixture against Clyst Vale once it has been rearranged.

Player of the match was Chloe C who’s composure, and reading of the game were vital both in keeping pressure off the girl’s defence and in starting their attacks.

Well done to the following:

Jess H, Tayler L, Izzy K, Bluebell C, Carly K, Chloe C, Molly W , Freya H, Jess W, Isla B, Jessica R, Niamh P

Alfie S, Oscar S, Kian F, Seb C, Connor S, Oliver R, Theo H, Cameron R, Will B, Harry C, Hudson W, Korbin M, Jake W, Archie A
