Unfortunate defeat for year 7 football team despite solid first half.

The year 7 football team unfortunately returned home from Plympton yesterday on the wrong end of a 5-1 score line. The boys were brilliant in the first half, pressing well, looking dangerous on the counter attack and solid in defence. Jack N was a constant threat on the wing with his blistering pace and at the other end of the pitch Rylie T was aggressive in his tackles but composed with his passing. A late goal meant we were just 1-0 down at half time.

In a whirlwind first 5 minutes of the second half, a couple of defensive slip ups resulted in two quick goals from Hele School and at 3-0 left us with a mountain to climb. Hele gained in confidence with their lead and despite a brilliant consolation goal from Captain Matthew S it wasn’t enough to keep his side in the cup.

Player’s player went to Oliver M who was fantastic in goal.

Squad:

Freddie H, Frankie LD, Harry W, Rylie T, Jacob O, Felix C, Jack N, Joey M, Matthew S, Ollie I, Harvey P, Oliver M.
